In 2006, Gulf Coast Medical Center and the Gulf Coast Cancer Treatment Center developed a partnership that created the Gulf Coast Cancer Institute (GCCI). GCCI includes the medical oncologists on staff at the hospital and the radiation oncologists on staff at the Gulf Coast Cancer Treatment Center. Gulf Coast Medical Center includes a 176-bed hospital, two diagnostic centers, and three primary care clinics. There are more than 300 physicians on the hospital’s medical staff, who represent more than 30 specialties and subspecialties. The hospital, which opened its doors in 1977, employs more than 800.
