Yours, which instantly identifies the four-county

THE Beach to large cities such as Atlanta, Birmingham,
Jacksonville, New Orleans,
and Orlando. U.S. Hwys 231
and 331, and State roads 77
and 79 provide interstate access
from I-10. U.S. Hwys 231
and 98 are four lanes, with
State roads 77 and 79 and
U.S. Hwy 331 scheduled for
expansion to four lanes. U.S.
Hwy 98 provides east and
west access to the Beaches.

Renourishment
Ever wonder how The World’s Most Beautiful Beaches
stay so clean and powdery white? The Panama City
Beach Convention & Visitor’s Bureau and the Bay
County Tourist Development Council completed
the destination’s first beach renourishment project
in April 2005 to refurbish the beach and rebuild the
dunes. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dredged
over three million cubic yards of offshore sand.
Costing between $20 and $30 million, the project
extended the 16-mile Panama City Beach federal
project area by a depth of 30 feet on average.

Panama City Beach has been
recognized by travel website
Trip Advisor as one of the
Top 10 Beaches in the U.S.
The 1.5 mile beach ranked
Number 2 on the 2008 list.
