R&D utilization will accelerate promotion and adoption of technologies. This will ensure sustainability of production, likewise, socioeconomic studies will help focus the R&D needs of the industry as well as develop marketing strategies for selected banana varieties. Table 18 presents the technology forecasts for the next 5–10 years. Mango For the mango industry to be more competitive, an improve systems approach, which should lead to an increase of quality fruits on industry-wide basis, will be adopted to address the specific technology needs of identified systems for mango and provide models to demonstrate the viability of transforming the disaggregated system into an integrated one. It will support research activities towards sustaining the momentum gained by the previous projects on mango.
