7 th Regional S&T Fora and Competitions in Industry and Energy
Research and Development.
The technology was presented during the 28 th International
Convention of the Philippine-American Academy of Science and
Engineering (PAASE) held at Georgetown University Washington
DC, USA.
With the need to find alternative and renewable energy brought
by the energy turbulence, the KCB technology once more took center
stage, during the Technology to People Media Conference sponsored
by PCARRD recently.
The conference also featured the jatropha enterprise for biodiesel
production which was presented by Dr. Roberto Guarte, Vice
President for Administration and Finance Project Director for Jatropha
project in Eastern Visayas.
A model of biogas digester was also presented by Felimon
Santander, a Magsasaka Siyentista from the Southern Mindanao
Agriculture Resources Research and Development Consortium
(SMARRDEC).
PCARRD provided the venue for the dissemination of alternative
energy sources under its Technology to People program to lessen
the burden of the food industry in relation to high energy cost in food
