AGEC
The Arizona General Education
Curriculum (AGEC) is a 35-38 credit
“block” that you can complete at any
arizona community college. Because
there are some differences in the
mathematics and science
requirements for different degrees,
there are three AGEC.
• AGEC-A: This is part of the
Associate in Arts Degree.
• AGEC-B This is part of the
Associate in Business degree.
• AGEC-S This is part of the Associate
in Science degree.
Completion of the AGEC and an
associate’s degree with a grade point
average (GPA) of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale
guarantees your
admission to any of
the Arizona public
universities for
resident students.
Nonresidents
must have a
GPA of 2.5 on a
4.0 scale.
MARICOPA-ASU PATHWAYS
PROGRAM (MAPP)
The Maricopa Community Colleges
and Arizona State University Alliance
partnership is designed to promote
positive and seamless experiences for
Maricopa students who transfer to
ASU. MAPPS offers meaningful
incentives for students who complete
a transfer certificate and associate’s
degree through an articulated degreeto-degree
transfer program called a
MAPP (Maricopa-ASU Pathways
Program).
Students follow a prescribed
sequence of course work at a
Maricopa Community College called a
MAPP. The MAPP meets all of the
requirements for a specified major at
ASU and includes the appropriate
associate degree at the community
college. Benefits include:
• Guaranteed admission to ASU
degree programs when all MAPP
requirements are met.
• Tuition incentives
• Specific scholarships available for
meritorious students who complete
the appropriate transfer degree.
• Dedicated advisement by ASU
Transfer Advisors who hold office
hours at Maricopa Community
Colleges.
If you are decided on a major and
plan to transfer to ASU to earn a
bachelor’s degree, see your academic
advisor about MAPP’s.
