likely to practice <strong>the</strong> desired behavior, especially when related to <strong>the</strong> use <strong>of</strong> kit contents<br />
like <strong>the</strong> plastic, <strong>the</strong> blade and <strong>the</strong> cord ties. Washing hands was not universal among kit<br />
users but was higher among users than among kit non-users (as was use <strong>of</strong> soap). Nei<strong>the</strong>r<br />
group wrapped <strong>the</strong> baby promptly, with 87% in each group waiting until after bathing <strong>the</strong><br />
baby, but kit users were a little more likely to wrap <strong>the</strong> baby early. Similarly, nei<strong>the</strong>r<br />
group had a high proportion beginning breastfeeding in <strong>the</strong> first hour after birth, but kit<br />
users were slightly more likely to start within <strong>the</strong> first day (39% vs. 31%).<br />
