Wrap yourself up for Valentine’s
YOU are the perfect Valentine’s gift for your paramour, and just in case you have any hesitation about
dressing yourself up and offering yourself as the prize for the
night, here are several PASSIONAL pieces to consider…
The foundations of fashion
In our modern era, it is perfectly passional to peel back a layer and
show off quality lingerie. Elegant, body sculpting corsets can be
worn with pants and a jacket out for Valentine’s dinner (don’t worry,
you will not overeat in a corset). Indulge in a few polite nibbles and
share dessert with your date. Later on you can peel away your
bottoms and wear it with nothing but naughty panties and stockings
for a romantic after dinner nightcap!
TOUGH LOVE The “Bride of
Frankenstein” dress is the costume of
choice when foreplay is role play.
options for that last minute Las-Vegas elopement! If you
are planning a summer wedding, call 877-U-CORSET today to
Be Gay for a Day on South Street for
Love Carnival
Masquerade
Love comes in many flavors and Philly’s South Street
neighborhood is famous for Tutti Fruity! The flavors will be more
fruity than ever on Sunday, February 22 when the entire street gets
a queer make-over for an unforgettable evening of shopping,
dancing, performances and pride.
LOVE.
Pride.
Feather Masks!
The masquerade is an informal stroll of colorful people wearing either
feather masks or LGBT pride pins & T-shirts for discounts and special
offers at participating local businesses.
Many famous business are rolling out the royal rainbow colored carpet
to raise funds and awareness for Philly Pride. Partipating businesses will offer
gifts or discounts to proud masqueraders on the street that night. The more you indulge
the more money gets raised for Philly Pride Presents (producers of the June’s Philly Pride Parade, and October’s
OUTfest), who will receive a portion of the day’s sales from all participating businesses.
What to expect?. Producers of some of Philly’s most flamboyant parties are moving into restaurants and
clubs on the street to create an absolutely fabulous night of entertainment and activities for the enjoyment of
all. Sideshows and Skin (produced by the creators of Gay Adventure at Jackson’s Six Flags) will be redecorating Fat
Tuesdays with plump divas, buff men and other campy treats to the tune of massive house beats. Peekaboo Revue
(now directed by Greg Giovanni of Big Mess Theater fame) will perform two special burlesque shows in (and
out) of various drags. Passional will host a “no-cover party” at Copa. Psydde Delicious will continue his bisexual
go-go mayhem at Fluid’s Fast Cheap and Outta Control. Each party
will assign a portion of cover charges to a specific Lesbian, Gay,
Bisexual and Transgendered charity.
And by the way, you don’t have to actually be a card-carrying
queer to be proud! Even the Grinch will be raiding his loot-filled
closet to find some gay apparel-- whether it be a pin that proclaims
“straight but not narrow” or a full-on sequined frock! Parading
around in feather masks and rainbow drags may not be your life’s
calling, but you can be as gay as you want to be on February 22.
Just find yourself a mask, a pride button or a t-shirt and you will
receive a gay welcome at the LOVE Carnival Masquerade on South
Street!
Come out in support or just to witness more camp and
circumstance than trick or treat!
Who knows how the menu will evolve as the date gets closer, but
you can find out by subscribing to the Masquerade’s e-mail
newsletter: southstreetLOVEcarnivalsubscribe@yahoogroups.com

Where the Drags are: Drag queens abound at
passi
assional places in philadelphia
Where the Fashionista’s Flock: Fine dining establishments abound though you may find it challenging to
get reservations in several stylish Philly restaurants! Circa and The Astral Plane are good places to go where the
style is casually chic and the food is fabulous. Nightclubwise, you will find long lines of fashionable people
freezing their designer label butts off this February throughout the narrow streets of Olde City hoping for atthe-door
approval for entry to dozens of small dance clubs with no barstools.
Where the Goths are: Philly boasts a very strong Goth/Industrial music and club scene. Digital Ferret records
(www.ferret.com) produces an incredible weekly Gothic dance night every Wednesday as well as Dracula’s Ball
every other month at Shampoo Nightclub. Sin Thursdays happen at La Tazza on Thursdays and Dark Corner at
Ulana’s every Saturday night. Revolutions at Paradise Alley detonates every other Saturday.
Sexy places to go stag or with your paramour: The Peekaboo Revue (www.peekaboorevue.com) is
Philadelphia’s neo-burlesque comedic dinner theater troupe that performs at The Five Spot in Olde City the first
Saturday of each month for two shows (make reservations as tables fill up quickly) as well as at various other
venues and dates throughout the month. Every week, rock n’ roll singles and couples converge on Fluid Nightclub
for Fast Cheap and Outta Control (www.fastcheapparty.com), a rock and roll dance party with male and
female strippers and an amateur go-go contest at midnight! If strip clubs are your thing, most Philadelphia
“Gentlemen’s Clubs” welcome het/bi female couples to their bars and couch dens. For a complete listing of
strip clubs, night clubs and other interesting entertainment and news, pick up a copy of Lap Dance magazine
(www.lapdancemag.com). Sex Toy Bingo happens at Lucy’s Hat shop Feb 4, get tix at PASSIONAL.
Het couple hangouts: If you are an extremely adventurous hetero couple (or bi female/het couple) then
you simply must get to Club Kama Sutra (www.clubkamasutra.com) at least one time while you are still in Philly
to meet and dine with pretty people, and then get it on in front of an audience or just be an audience to others
doing their thing.
Where the Fetishes are: Philly has its own weekend non-alchoholic BDSM club called the Tannery, at a
discrete location near Delaware Avenue. If you prefer more public play in a nightclub atmosphere there are two
monthly fetish parties that occur opposite each other every month: Shock Therapy (www.shock-therapy.net) and
The Playground (www.shibarati.com) (see ad page 15).
Gay Leather 101 by Ryan Goldner
This space might be well served as a “welcome to gay leather” section. An area to share information about
gay and lesbian leather/fetish events, and news and happenings, not only for queer folks, but for everyone
reading this newsletter wanting to learn more about different areas of the community you may not be familiar
with, but would like to get to know better. If you have any topic suggestions, or simply want to “ask the fag”
something, shoot me an email at NJwhitetrash@aol.com. Please be advised though that any vulgar and
innapropriate emails, although rude, will probably get me off...anyway....
For the first month I thought it might be good to start off by introducing to folks a few places to gets tons of
information about gay and lesbian leather, easily. As I’m sure we all know, the internet is a clearing house of
information, but some websites are much better than others. In my opinion, the ultimate, most respectable
and accurate, informational website for national leather news and information has to be
www.leatherpage.com. Leatherpage is a super website, run by former International Mr. Leather Joe Gallagher.
Joe’s page lists leather columnists from across the country and beyond who write regular columns on events,
activities, fundraisers, and more from their part of the country. This is a great way to learn what’s going on in
the leather fetish communities of California, Chicago, NYC, and numerous other areas, as well as Philly and
NJ. So if you always wondered what the gay and lesbian leather and fetish communities were up to, or simply
who they are, this is a good place to start. Other fun websites to take a look at as well! www.hotboots.com, a
great boot fetish website. www.inuniform.com, Great website for anyone with a uniform fetish.
www.epgn.com, Philly’s gay newspaper, learn what’s going on in your backyard!
APHRODITE ART T GALLERY Y AT T PASSI
ASSIONAL
presents SOLOSEXUAL: an erotic collection of Impressionist digital photographs and
photo-realist drawings by Philadelphia artist and Gay activist Albo Jeavons
“My work is usually explicitly political in its subject matter”
says Jeavons, “but most of the erotic work is more subtextual
political in it’s open and explicitly homoerotic celebration of the
pleasures of the human body. I want to reclaim the penis from
the patriarchy, and the naked male body from Calvin Klein and
Abercrombie And Fitch.” The “What do neckties really mean?”
series; a humorous investigation of the necktie as phallic
symbol, will be included in the exhibition.
Jeavons has worked as an illustrator for gay sex magazines, and
as the producer of safe-sex and auto-fellatio videos for 15 years.
PASSI
ASSIONAL PERSPECTIVES
By Grant Antrews
Grant Antrews is a pseudonym used by an area
writer for his erotic work, and it has become a recognized
name in the arena of S & M oriented literature.
Mr. Antrews is a successful professional and family
man, but he is also a sensitive and sensual person who
subtly intersperses challenging social issues into his
steamy stories. Grant’s books include the novels My
Darling Dominatrix (an international erotic best-seller!),
Submissions, Rogues Gallery, and Legacies all by the nowdefunct
Masquerade Books, all of which are out of
print, and the autobiographical The 43 rd Mistress
published by Greenery Press, which can still be found
at PASSIONAL.
His books have been favorably reviewed and sold
world-wide. Without exception, Grant Antrews books
describe respectable and romantic S & M scenarios as
an integral part of his character’s every-day lives, and
those characters usually find that their experiments
with kink have actually enhanced them in every way.
Grant Antrews has been a practicing submissive and
S & M enthusiast since about 1961. He enjoys wearing
feminine underclothing beneath his male clothes, and
has not ever worn male underpants in more than a
dozen years. When in Philadelphia, he can sometimes
be found shopping at PASSIONAL (the former
Fetishes Boutique).
Writing is his hobby,
and although he has
enjoyed considerable
success in
mainstream publishing,
there will be
another Grant
Antrews novel one
of these days. In
the meantime, he
will be a regular
contributor to
TOYS YS FOR R BOYS
YS
Hold the key to his heart.
Do you find yourself wondering what happened to
the overly attentive and loving man that courted you?
Need a new way to drive the boy in your life absolutely
wild? Look no further than the fantastic collection
of male chastity devices from the fine folks at
Sufferware, including the CB2000, The Curve, and the
CB3000. All three models use a lightweight polycarbonate
cage to contain your man’s member and
prohibit both orgasms and erections. The CB2000 is
a bit bulky, but effective. The Curve is more rounded
and roomy. The new CB3000 is anatomical and much
smaller making it virtually undetectable under clothing.
Each one of these male chastity devices is completely
modular to ensure proper fit… spacers, 5 different
rings and a set of numbered plastic metal-detectorproof
locks are included.
There will be no more hasty waste of his sexual
energy with regular use of these devices. After a few
days, and sleepless nights, your man will once again be
the attentive lovelorn puppy you first met. What
better way to spend Valentine’s Day then to unlock
him for a night of love?
ASSIONAL Reading
The Beauty Trilogy Boxed Set by Anne Rice writing
as A. N. Roquelaure is a great set of Valentine’s stories
to read aloud to your lover or to enjoy alone with your
favorite electronic massager. The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty
probes the unspoken implications of this lush, suggestive
fairy tale by exploring its undeniable connection to sexual
desire. Beauty’s Punishment continues her explicit, teasing
explorations. Beauty’s Release, the final volume this
deliciously tantalizing erotic trilogy, takes Beauty on an
adventure to the dark side of sexuality. Once I picked
up each of these books, I could not put them down,
Anne Rice has a way of making you feel like you are
right there with Beauty. I have read each one many times
and would recommend them to anyone that loves to
dive into the realm of bdsm erotic.—-KinkyKate
Tips for a Naughty and Romantic Valentines
Seducing a man:. Start by sending him a very sexy
erotic love note each day for the entire week leading
up to Valentine’s Day. Give him detailed descriptions
on sex acts you will be performing on him. If you
have a difficult time doing this, you can get coupons,
scratch off lottery tickets and other ideas from
PASSIONAL. Tantalize
him mentally with
alluring possibilities of
different positions and
sex acts that will take
place on Valentine’s Day.
To seduce a woman:
Try offering yourself to
your partner as her love
slave for the day. Present
yourself in a sexy package
of velvet shorts or
leather thong and inform
her that she may do to
you as she wishes. Start the evening off by serving
her a cool glass of Sex Soda (see page 9) in a champagne
flute. Then take some scented edible massage
oil or butter and start at massage her from head to toe
with your hands and finish up by licking it all off. For
PASSIONAL.
Please note: Last month, when reviewing the
wonders of glass toys, the “lube warning” was inadvertently
left out. Yes, it is fun to freeze them and
send chills up your lover’s spine but USE LUBE or
you will get freezerburn (ouch)! Note that silicone
lube stays slippery whether frozen or underwater.
PASSIONAL’s racks are still full of lovely functional
pyrex so check it out.
These tips can be used any day that you just want to
add a little spice to your relationship, but Valentine’s is
the perfect excuse to get started! Don’t forget to send your
questions, suggestions or ask for advice to
assional ADVENTURES
Getting Belted by Kelly Dunham
As a butch dyke, I don’t qualify for metrosexual status,
but I’ve been noticing dudes wearing moisturizer are getting all the chicks.
Wanting some of the action but not willing to submit to a seaweed facial or a
hotrock body wrap, I followed the advice in the Metrosexual Guide and started
shopping for “vital accessories.” I went to PASSIONAL (then Fetishes Boutique)
and bought a black leather belt that transforms to hand restraints.
Vital, yes, and also attractive and discreet enough to wear every day. If you’re
kinky enough to ascertain the belt’s many uses, you’re kinky enough to think it’s
cool. Or hot.
On a recent family vacation; however, my mom (of all people) commented, “I
know what that belt is for.”
I stared at her, nearly panicked at the prospect of
having a kink conversation with my mother.
“To keep your pants up,” she said, giggling at her
own joke. Clearly, she had one too many servings of
Whiskey Cranberry Gelatin Salad (known in other
families as a ‘’jello shot’). She didn’t want to have a
talk about gags, she merely wanted to make one.
A few weeks later, when a beautiful woman was
using my belt to secure me to a concrete column so
she could have her evil way with me, I realized how
wrong my mom was.
The purpose of the belt isn’t to keep my pants up.
It’s to get them pulled down.
Next month: taking my sister toy shopping
