Directorate Reports<br />

Corporate and Commercial Development Directorate continued<br />

• inclusion <strong>of</strong> Public Interest Disclosure<br />

information in staff induction process and<br />

awareness raising with Zoo managers<br />

• monitoring <strong>of</strong> telephone and internet use<br />

• improvements to the master keying system<br />

• development <strong>of</strong> a Social Media Policy.<br />

Perth Zoo has a Risk Management<br />

Committee and an Audit Committee to<br />

oversee risk management and corporate<br />

governance improvements.<br />

As part <strong>of</strong> the annual risk management<br />

programs, the Zoo’s Risk Management<br />

Committee conducted an Agency Risk Review<br />

<strong>of</strong> whole-<strong>of</strong>-zoo management risks. All Zoo<br />

Managers and Curators undertook Sectional<br />

Risk Assessments. Other work included the<br />

ongoing program <strong>of</strong> emergency drills to test<br />

emergency procedures and staff roles in<br />

emergencies. An Emergency Management<br />

Action Group was established during the<br />

year to address and coordinate emergency<br />

management within the Zoo. A test <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Business Continuity Plan was conducted and<br />

outcomes reviewed. Findings were documented<br />

and incorporated into relevant processes<br />

and procedures.<br />
