3. Expenses by nature<br />
Operating expenses are presented on the face <strong>of</strong> the income statement using a classification based<br />
on the nature <strong>of</strong> expenses [see note 1(b)]. Marine expenses include those expenses derived from<br />
water based activities, port operations expenses include those expenses related to land based<br />
support activities, whilst general administration expenses includes expenditure <strong>of</strong> an administrative<br />
nature.<br />
