LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS<br />

Answer—<br />

(1) Information in relation to full time employees (FTE) is available in the Department <strong>of</strong> Premier and<br />

Cabinet annual reports.<br />

(2) Information in relation to consultants is available in the Department <strong>of</strong> Premier and Cabinet annual<br />

reports.<br />

Contractors:<br />

(a) The number <strong>of</strong> contractors during the financial year 2007-2008 were 182.<br />

(b) The number <strong>of</strong> contractors during the financial year 2008-2009 were 224.<br />

(c) The number <strong>of</strong> contractors as at 30 August 2009 were 103.<br />

*7464 WSN FACILITY—OPERATING HOURS—Mr Jonathan O'Dea asked the Deputy Premier, Minister for<br />

Climate Change and the Environment, and Minister for Commerce—<br />

(1) What recent changes have been implemented to operating hours⁄business hours for the WSN<br />

facilities at Belrose?<br />

(2) What public consultation or local notification occurred prior to these changes being made?<br />

Answer—<br />

(1) WSN has reduced opening hours at Belrose on Saturdays from 8am until 5pm to 8am until 1pm and<br />

has closed the centre on Sundays, effective as <strong>of</strong> 1 August 2009. The facility was previously open<br />

from 8am to 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays.<br />

I'm advised that other waste and recycling facilities are available to the public at Kimbriki and Ryde.<br />

(2) I'm advised that WSN informed its customers <strong>of</strong> the changes and alternative facilities through direct<br />

communication and signage at the Belrose facility as well as local media advertisements.<br />

*7465 JUSTICELINK—Mr Jonathan O'Dea asked the Minister for Transport, and Minister for the Illawarra<br />

representing the Attorney General, Minister for Industrial Relations, Minister for Health, Minister for the<br />

Central Coast, Vice President <strong>of</strong> the Executive Council—<br />

(1) How much is the JusticeLink projected to save NSW taxpayers per annum?<br />

(2) What is the total cost <strong>of</strong> this project to date, excluding training and implementation costs?<br />

(3) What are the projected total training and implementation costs?<br />

Answer—<br />

I am advised:<br />

(1) Projected savings to the taxpayer and legal pr<strong>of</strong>ession for JusticeLink are well in excess <strong>of</strong> the<br />

project cost.<br />

(2) I refer the member to the relevant Budget <strong>Paper</strong>.<br />

(3) Operational trainers are funded from the operational budget <strong>of</strong> the Attorney General's Department.<br />

Regarding projects listed in the 2009-2010 Budget:<br />

In Budget <strong>Paper</strong> <strong>No</strong>. 4 at page 4-21 the following entry appears:<br />

Regional Caseworker Accommodation Upgrade - Various<br />

What is the amount under the entry that has been allocated to the Murrumbidgee electorate?<br />

Answer—<br />

For 2009-10, an amount <strong>of</strong> $0.4 million has been allocated to a project in the Murrumbidgee electorate.<br />

This project relates to Regional Caseworker Accommodation Upgrades in Condobolin.<br />

Education and Training, and Minister for Women—<br />

In relation to funding for Support Teachers for special needs children:<br />

(1) How many Support Teachers does the Department <strong>of</strong> Education and Training (DET) currently<br />

employ across NSW in each <strong>of</strong> the following roles:<br />

(a) Support Teacher Learning Assistance;<br />
