7064 LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS MONDAY 12 OCTOBER 2009 (2) (a) to (e) As at 2008, resignations were as follows: After 1st year - 90 After 2nd year - 59 After 3rd year - 40 After 4th year - 30 After 5th year - 48 *7391 PUBLIC SCHOOLS VISITED—Mr Adrian Piccoli asked the Premier, and Minister for the Arts— With reference to the NSW public schools that have been visited by the Premier since 8 October 2008, would the Premier please provide the following information: (a) Name of NSW public school; (b) Date of visit; (c) Reason for visit? Answer— The Premier has a strong commitment to public education and has visited 33 public schools since 8 October 2008. NSW has a world class public education system, and the Government is committed to further enhancing its quality. In the 2009-10 Budget, the NSW Government announced that a record $14.7 billion would be invested in school education and vocational training across NSW. This funding will go towards supporting the increase in school leaving age, with an additional $25 million over five years for new capital infrastructure such as new classrooms, along with additional funding for staff and other measures which will rise to around $100 million in 2012-13. Other commitments to be funded in the Budget include enhancing the quality and retention of permanent new teachers, investing in the new Bilingual Schools Program, and funding programs for students with disabilities, indigenous students, students speaking English as a second language and students in rural areas. *7392 CAR HOON LAWS—Mr Geoff Provest asked the Minister for Planning, and Minister for Redfern Waterloo representing the Minister for Police, Minister for Lands, and Minister for Rural Affairs— In relation to car hoon laws and charges in the Tweed electorate: How many people in the Tweed electorate have been charged under the car hoon laws, introduced in 2008 in: (a) 2008; (b) year to date? Answer— The Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research (BOCSAR) analyses NSW recorded crime statistics. I suggest the Honourable Member's questions are more appropriately addressed to the Attorney General, within whose portfolio the Bureau resides. *7393 SEXTON HILL SPEED CAMERA—Mr Geoff Provest asked the Minister for Finance, Minister for Infrastructure, Minister for Regulatory Reform, and Minister for Ports and Waterways representing the Treasurer— In relation to infringements in the Tweed electorate: (1) How many speeding fines have been recorded from the speed camera on Sexton's Hill with vehicles travelling not more than 15 km⁄h over the speed limit in: (a) 2007; (b) 2008; (c) year to date? (2) How many speeding fines have been recorded from the speed camera on Sexton's Hill with vehicles travelling more than 15 km⁄h over the speed limit but not more than 30 km⁄h in: (a) 2007; (b) 2008; (c) year to date? Answer— I'm advised: The following table provides the total number of fines issued in relation to the fixed speed camera located at Pacific Highway, Banora Point (Sexton Hill), broken down by speed band, for the requested calendar years. (2) What was the total payroll tax collected in the Tweed electorate from postcode 2486 in the following years: (a) 2007; (b) 2008; (c) 2009? (3) What was the total payroll tax collected in the Tweed electorate from postcode 2487 in the following years: (a) 2007; (b) 2008; (c) 2009? Answer— The amount of payroll tax collected is based on the registered address of the business. As some businesses have their head office in another location, it is not possible for the Office of State Revenue to accurately report on the amount of tax collected by postcode. *7395 ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECTS—Mr Michael Richardson asked the Deputy Premier, Minister for Climate Change and the Environment, and Minister for Commerce— (1) Since she became Minister, has the Minister or her office assigned funding to any environmental projects after direct requests were made to her or her office without formal application? (2) If so: (a) What were the names of those projects? (b) Who made the direct requests for each project? (c) How much was each project worth? (d) What evaluation was done of each of these projects?
