(6) Given that psychological injury was identified in the <strong>No</strong>vember 2002 Workplace Safety Summit as a<br />
key issue, what research has since been undertaken as a response and what action has been taken to<br />
alleviate such workplace injury?<br />
Answer—<br />
(1) to (3) Formal monthly pr<strong>of</strong>essional supervision is part <strong>of</strong> Community Service's policies, and best<br />
endeavours are made to ensure that all Child Protection Caseworkers are supervised in accordance with<br />
these policies.<br />
(4) and (5) Managers interact with and provide feedback, support and casework guidance to the staff they<br />
supervise on a daily basis. This forms an aspect <strong>of</strong> 'informal' supervision and is generally in addition to<br />
formal monthly pr<strong>of</strong>essional supervision.<br />
(6) Comprehensive research has occurred across the organisation resulting in the following initiatives<br />
being implemented: Emotional Resilience training <strong>of</strong>fered to all new staff at the Helpline; the proactive<br />
management <strong>of</strong> workers compensation claims and developing safe and durable return to work plans; the<br />
implementation <strong>of</strong> Preventing and Managing Client Initiated Violence policy and procedures; the<br />
introduction <strong>of</strong> the Client Context Risk Management Tool for staff to use if there was a potential threat;<br />
and compulsory training for all caseworkers with face to face client contact in Preventing and Managing<br />
Occupational Violence.<br />
*7362 ROAD WIDENING WORKS—Mr Chris Hartcher asked the Minister for Roads—<br />
(1) When will road widening on Avoca Drive, Green Point be completed?<br />
(2) When will road widening on the F3 at Berowra be competed?<br />
Answer—<br />
I am advised:<br />
(1) The project is currently scheduled to open to traffic in early 2011, subject to weather conditions<br />
during the period <strong>of</strong> construction.<br />
(2) In late 2009.<br />
*7363 MINISTER FOR CENTRAL COAST—Mr Chris Hartcher asked the Premier, and Minister for the<br />
Arts—<br />
As the new Minister for the Central Coast does not live or work on the Central Coast, will the Premier<br />
require him to attend the Central Coast at least once each week?<br />
Answer—<br />
The Premier became the Minister for the Central Coast on 14 September 2009. As the Premier announced<br />
on 16 September 2009, Mr David Harris, Member for Wyong, has been appointed as his <strong>Parliament</strong>ary<br />
Secretary for the Central Coast.<br />
*7364 COST OF THE CONSULTANT—Mr Chris Hartcher asked the Deputy Premier, Minister for Climate<br />
Change and the Environment, and Minister for Commerce representing the Attorney General, Minister<br />
for Industrial Relations, Minister for Health, Minister for the Central Coast, Vice President <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Executive Council—<br />
What is the cost <strong>of</strong> the consultant, whose appointment was announced on 31 August 2009 at Gosford<br />
Hospital, engaged to assess the need for a public oncology and radiology service at Gosford Hospital?<br />
Answer—<br />

*7365 REAPPOINTMENT OF MINISTERS—Mr Chris Hartcher asked the Premier, and Minister for the<br />
Arts—<br />
Will the Premier give an undertaking that Ministers who have resigned from the Ministry will not be<br />
reappointed?<br />
Answer—<br />
The Premier makes recommendations to the Governor to appoint the Ministry, in accordance with section<br />
35E <strong>of</strong> the Constitution Act.<br />
