Answer—<br />

(1) Approximately 100 leaders from business, government and the university and research sector were<br />

invited to attend the Premier's University Government Business Forum.<br />

(2) I refer you to the Premier's Media Release dated 20 July 2009.<br />

(3) The NSW Chief Scientist and Scientific Engineer, Pr<strong>of</strong>essor O'Kane, was not provided with financial<br />

remuneration in relation to the Forum.<br />

(4) <strong>No</strong>t applicable.<br />

(5) The main purpose <strong>of</strong> the Forum was to discuss opportunities for improved collaboration between the<br />

Government, industry and universities in building skills, attracting investment, promoting<br />

international engagement and building research concentrations. In this context, a two hour workshop<br />

was held to discuss challenges such as climate change, the global economic crisis, energy issues, and<br />

the ageing <strong>of</strong> the population.<br />

(6) I refer you to the Premier's Media Release dated 20 July 2009.<br />

(7) The total cost for delivery <strong>of</strong> the Forum was approximately $53,000 inclusive <strong>of</strong> GST. This included:<br />

(a) approximately $4500 for venue hire;<br />

(b) approximately $3000 for catering;<br />

(c) approximately $500 for Audio Visual equipment hire;<br />

(d) approximately $1460 for stationary, including working folders, program and discussion paper<br />

printing costs and note pads;<br />

(e) other miscellaneous costs <strong>of</strong> approximately $44,000 inclusive <strong>of</strong> GST.<br />

*7317 AGE DISTRIBUTION OF TEACHERS—Mr Adrian Piccoli asked the Minister for Education and<br />

Training, and Minister for Women—<br />

In relation to the age distribution <strong>of</strong> teachers currently employed by the Department <strong>of</strong> Education and<br />

Training in NSW public schools, what is the total number <strong>of</strong> teachers in each <strong>of</strong> the following age ranges,<br />

broken down by gender (male⁄female) and employment classification (Full Time Equivalent, Part Time<br />

and Casual):<br />

(a) Under 25;<br />

(b) Between 25 and 34;<br />

(c) Between 35 and 44;<br />

(d) Between 45 and 54;<br />

(e) Between 55 and 64;<br />

(f) Over 65?<br />

Answer—<br />

(a) to (f) I am advised that at 30 June 2009, the age distribution <strong>of</strong> teachers employed by the Department<br />

<strong>of</strong> Education and Training in NSW public schools was as follows:<br />
