About the <strong>Wait</strong> Time Alliance<br />

The <strong>Wait</strong> Time Alliance (WTA) was created <strong>in</strong> the fall of<br />

2004, follow<strong>in</strong>g the release of that year’s Health Accord (A<br />

10-year plan to strengthen health care). WTA members have<br />

used their unique expertise to develop and advocate for medical<br />

wait-time benchmarks, as well as m<strong>on</strong>itor governments’<br />

implementati<strong>on</strong> of wait-time commitments.<br />

WTA Missi<strong>on</strong> Statement<br />

The WTA is c<strong>on</strong>cerned over delayed access to health care for<br />

Canadians. We work collaboratively with our stakeholders to<br />

<strong>in</strong>form, advocate, and provide soluti<strong>on</strong>s to achieve timely,<br />

appropriate and equitable access to high-quality health care.<br />

The WTA is comprised of 14 nati<strong>on</strong>al medical organizati<strong>on</strong>s<br />

whose members are directly <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> provid<strong>in</strong>g care<br />

to patients. The WTA members are:<br />
