SEASIDE - Park Hotel Leipzig

”It looks great, so bright and open – we’re really
looking forward to spending the coming evenings
here“, was the enthusiastic verdict of a pair of longstanding
guests on the newly designed terrace of
the Seaside Sandy Beach. And Ms Matas smiles –
as the hotel’s director she can’t imagine any higher
praise.
What makes the Seaside Hotels unique is their high quality
standards – ranging from the rooms and cuisine to
their exclusive locations, and all backed up by a philosophy
of always offering guests more than they expect. On
this principle owner Theo Gerlach regularly has extensive
renovations and improvements implemented, and in
2011 and 2012 all the hotel’s rooms will be gradually
renovated and equipped with new furniture. As requested
by many of our guests the carpeting on the floor will
be replaced by tiles.
In 2010 extensive renovation and redesign work carried
out in the restaurant and buffet area of the Seaside
Sandy Beach. The project was put out to tender, which
was won by architect Susanne Gerstberger with her
design featuring a roof in the shape of a palm tree. Both
Spanish and German companies were involved in the
implementation of the ambitious project. In addition to
the conspicuous roof design the complete buffet station
and the entire terrace and restaurant area were remodelled,
from the tiles via the lighting and greenery to
the tables, chairs and decorations.
The aim of the extensive construction work was to make
the restaurant area and its surroundings even more
attractive and modern in the charming Moorish style of
the hotel. In addition the fitness terrace on the ninth floor
was roofed over, which makes exercising with a view of
the sea even more enjoyable. The hotel had to be closed
during the construction operations, but after only one
month the conversion work had been completed and the
first positive comments by guests were heard. ”It’s very
satisfying – I hear nothing but praise from our regular
guests. I really appreciate it”, is the pleased response of
Ms Matas.
