L.Porokhnyak. I wish to to suppon your \iews. Your deposition raises issues about the urgent need in Ukraine for technical, scientific and humanitarian medical assistance. In this regard I would like to point out; 1 The need is urgent. .Assistance is most effecti\ e if medical sciences address humanitarian needs concurrently. 2. We suppon the vieu that in addition to go\ermental programs, one-to-one bilateral programs between individual scientists, clinicians, clinics, hospitals or institutes are probably more effective. 3. Concerning <strong>Chernobyl</strong>, international medical assistance to Ukraine per se has been modest. We also recognize the need for novel approaches beyond those already in place and promoted by International Agencies. New approaches such as the "Centers" are worthy because they fall outside of the existing frameworks. The "Centers" would attract considerable interest from our emerging private sector concerned with medical technology. I lake this opportunity to express my best wishes.
