This educational event is <strong>for</strong> patients, <strong>the</strong>ir families and <strong>the</strong><br />
public who are interested in exploring <strong>the</strong> essential health issues<br />
surrounding pancreatic cancer.<br />
The goals of this program are to:<br />
• Provide up-to-date in<strong>for</strong>mation on risk factors, incidence,<br />
diagnosis and treatment <strong>for</strong> pancreatic and islet cell cancers<br />
• Discuss <strong>the</strong> latest surgical interventions, emerging <strong>the</strong>rapies,<br />
and innovative research trials <strong>for</strong> pancreatic and islet cell<br />
cancers<br />
• Highlight management strategies <strong>for</strong> addressing fatigue, sleep<br />
disturbance and pain<br />
• Discuss common nutritional challenges and management<br />
strategies in cancer care<br />
• Identify <strong>the</strong> role of genetic risk in pancreatic cancer<br />
• Explore personal perspectives of issues faced by individuals<br />
and <strong>the</strong>ir families with a diagnosis of pancreatic or islet cell<br />
