• All power cords and extension leads MUST BE
TESTED AND TAGGED displaying a in-date tag with details of
testing officer displayed on the tag. Power lead connections must be
protected from moisture at all times and MUST NOT BE LAID across
passage ways or access ways unless they are suitably protected.
IF YOUR POWER CORD OR EXTENSION LEAD IS NOT TAGGED
THERE WILL BE AN ONSITE TESTING OFFICER ATTENDING
THE GROUNDS ON TUESDAY 3RD APRIL, 2007 3PM TO 5PM
TO ENABLE YOUR LEAD TO BE TESTED AND TAGGED.
CHARGE WILL BE $5.00 PER LEAD.
IF YOU DO NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS SERVICE FROM
WEDNESDAY 4TH APRIL, 2007 THERE WILL BE A FINE
OF $10.00 PER LEAD FOR UN-TAGGED LEADS.

Because the skin of grey horses
tends to have more melanin in it
than that of other horses, grey
horses can be more prone to
developing melanomas, or
small tumours on the skin.
Though they are rarely fatal,
melanomas can be unsightly and
can cause chafing, if they interfere
with tack. Melanomas do not
usually occur in younger horses.
They can often be found under the
dock of the tail, around the genital
area, near the ears and eyes
and in the jugular area. Most
melanomas do not cause the
animal any pain, and they don’t
often metastasise, as melanomas
can do in humans. Thus,
melanomas may not cause a
problem to the horse during its
normal life span.
Surgery and laser treatment can
be used to remove melanomas,
but veterinarians do not always
recommend this course of action.
As with any equine health issue,
you should consult your
veterinarian as to what, if
anything, should be done in
each particular case.
