<strong>PH</strong>AA YOUTH REPORT - Craig Dengate...<br />
Hi to all our youth.<br />
By now you are back to school and have started<br />
a new year with lots <strong>of</strong> experiences to be had by<br />
you in the near future.<br />
Up coming year, some <strong>of</strong> the events in store for you with the<br />
<strong>PH</strong>AA to look forward to.<br />
2007 <strong>PH</strong>AA NATIONAL SHOW the biggest show event <strong>of</strong> the<br />
year for our <strong>PH</strong>AA members, plenty <strong>of</strong> exciting activities apart<br />
from showing your horse including -<br />
2007 YOUTH TEAMS CHALLENGE- contestants must be<br />
current <strong>PH</strong>AA Youth members, each team is to be given a name,<br />
names indicating the region, state or country <strong>of</strong> team would be<br />
encouraged. The events that form the Teams Challenge are<br />
Showmanship, English Equitation, Western <strong>Horse</strong>manship,<br />
Decathalon, Trail, Teams Relay and Teams Ride. Each team can<br />
have two members compete in each compulsory event and must<br />
nominate which two <strong>of</strong> their team members are competing. The<br />
Youth Teams Ride is judged on originality, choreography, team<br />
work and artistic ability. Music is to be supplied by a team<br />
member to the National Show <strong>of</strong>fice at least 24 hours prior to<br />
the event and is to be either on audio cassette or CD. Fancy<br />
outfits/team uniforms will be taken into consideration. Placings<br />
in Teams Challenge Events will not be announced until the<br />
special presentation night.<br />
TUESDAY NIGHT APPROXIMATELY 8PM Goods And<br />
Services Auction. This<br />
event has expanded every<br />
year and this year looks to<br />
be even better, just<br />
remember 50% <strong>of</strong> funds<br />
raised from this event goes<br />
to the Youth Development Fund. Last year we had some talented<br />
youth get involved as well and auction <strong>of</strong>f some <strong>of</strong> their friend<br />
to help <strong>PH</strong>AA members out with cleaning out stables, banding,<br />
grooming etc. If you or your Mum and Dad have anything you<br />
would like to donate it would be greatly appreciated. Come along<br />
and be involved.<br />
2007 YOUTH BREAKFAST Wednesday 4th April 7.30am to<br />
9am. Come and see what kind <strong>of</strong> cook you are, bacon and egg<br />
breakfast and some fun treats, once again money raised goes to<br />
the youth account and all participating youth receive free<br />
breakfast.<br />
2007 YOUTH PANCAKE BAKE Friday night National Show<br />
once again you can show what kind <strong>of</strong> cook you are, our resident<br />
pancake chef Gavin Seymour may be on hand once again to cook<br />
up the best pancakes in the west. We have perfected our recipe<br />
and our demand is growing beyond belief.<br />
Other interesting events -<br />
Laidley-Walloon Quarter <strong>Horse</strong> Performance <strong>Association</strong> Inc. are conducting the QLD<br />
Quarter Kids camp run over 4 days at the Gatton Indoor Arena from the 26th June to<br />
29th June, 2007 and have invited the <strong>PH</strong>AA to sponsor one <strong>of</strong> our <strong>PH</strong>AA Youth<br />
members to attend this camp.<br />
Thanks to the Youth Development Fund financial support is available. Youth attending<br />
must be between the ages <strong>of</strong> 5 - 15 with the concept <strong>of</strong> promoting the sport <strong>of</strong> western riding and<br />
improving each rider skills <strong>of</strong> knowledge <strong>of</strong> the horse industry. PLEASE READ ON - PG.29.<br />
