PHAA YOUTH REPORT - Craig Dengate...
Hi to all our youth.
By now you are back to school and have started
a new year with lots of experiences to be had by
you in the near future.
Up coming year, some of the events in store for you with the
PHAA to look forward to.
2007 PHAA NATIONAL SHOW the biggest show event of the
year for our PHAA members, plenty of exciting activities apart
from showing your horse including -
2007 YOUTH TEAMS CHALLENGE- contestants must be
current PHAA Youth members, each team is to be given a name,
names indicating the region, state or country of team would be
encouraged. The events that form the Teams Challenge are
Showmanship, English Equitation, Western Horsemanship,
Decathalon, Trail, Teams Relay and Teams Ride. Each team can
have two members compete in each compulsory event and must
nominate which two of their team members are competing. The
Youth Teams Ride is judged on originality, choreography, team
work and artistic ability. Music is to be supplied by a team
member to the National Show office at least 24 hours prior to
the event and is to be either on audio cassette or CD. Fancy
outfits/team uniforms will be taken into consideration. Placings
in Teams Challenge Events will not be announced until the
special presentation night.
TUESDAY NIGHT APPROXIMATELY 8PM Goods And
Services Auction. This
event has expanded every
year and this year looks to
be even better, just
remember 50% of funds
raised from this event goes
to the Youth Development Fund. Last year we had some talented
youth get involved as well and auction off some of their friend
to help PHAA members out with cleaning out stables, banding,
grooming etc. If you or your Mum and Dad have anything you
would like to donate it would be greatly appreciated. Come along
and be involved.
2007 YOUTH BREAKFAST Wednesday 4th April 7.30am to
9am. Come and see what kind of cook you are, bacon and egg
breakfast and some fun treats, once again money raised goes to
the youth account and all participating youth receive free
breakfast.
2007 YOUTH PANCAKE BAKE Friday night National Show
once again you can show what kind of cook you are, our resident
pancake chef Gavin Seymour may be on hand once again to cook
up the best pancakes in the west. We have perfected our recipe
and our demand is growing beyond belief.
Other interesting events -
Laidley-Walloon Quarter Horse Performance Association Inc. are conducting the QLD
Quarter Kids camp run over 4 days at the Gatton Indoor Arena from the 26th June to
29th June, 2007 and have invited the PHAA to sponsor one of our PHAA Youth
members to attend this camp.
Thanks to the Youth Development Fund financial support is available. Youth attending
must be between the ages of 5 - 15 with the concept of promoting the sport of western riding and
improving each rider skills of knowledge of the horse industry. PLEASE READ ON - PG.29.
