plann<strong>in</strong>g, implement<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> evaluat<strong>in</strong>g <strong>HRH</strong> practice <strong>in</strong> MNRH at community level.<br />

Improv<strong>in</strong>g the quality of community level <strong>HRH</strong> <strong>in</strong><strong>for</strong>mation<br />

HRIS systems <strong>and</strong> community level <strong>in</strong><strong>for</strong>mation<br />

<strong>HRH</strong> <strong>in</strong><strong>for</strong>mation concern<strong>in</strong>g those work<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> MNRH at community level is not<br />

comprehensively available from one source <strong>and</strong> the quality of the <strong>in</strong><strong>for</strong>mation is variable.<br />

This suggests that community level <strong>HRH</strong> <strong>in</strong><strong>for</strong>mation is not rout<strong>in</strong>ely collected <strong>in</strong> a<br />

consistent manner which highlights the need <strong>for</strong> st<strong>and</strong>ard <strong>in</strong>dicators <strong>and</strong> improved report<strong>in</strong>g<br />

procedures. Such <strong>in</strong>dicators could augment a national human resources <strong>for</strong> health <strong>in</strong><strong>for</strong>mation<br />

system (HRIS) <strong>and</strong> provide a more accurate picture of the current situation at community<br />

level so that additional resources can be properly justified. Indicators could be drawn from<br />

the ma<strong>in</strong> <strong>HRH</strong> components or areas of <strong>HRH</strong> <strong>in</strong>terventions at community level. These areas<br />

<strong>HRH</strong> <strong>in</strong>dicators that have been suggested by a number of authors are collated below <strong>in</strong> figure<br />

41. These <strong>in</strong>clude quantitative <strong>and</strong> qualitative <strong>in</strong>dicators <strong>and</strong> are categorised under the first<br />

three ma<strong>in</strong> head<strong>in</strong>gs with <strong>in</strong>dicators concern<strong>in</strong>g supportive work<strong>in</strong>g environments <strong>and</strong><br />

work<strong>in</strong>g with the community woven through the list.<br />
