I regularly serve as a small group tutorial leader for MSIII surgery clerkship students. This<br />
involves meeting with 2-3 students hourly each week for the duration of their 8 week rotation.<br />
(2006-present).<br />
Each surgery clerkship I present a lecture on “Ventilator Management” with a separate follow-up<br />
hands on/case based discussion session. This involves 15-25 students per session. (2006-present).<br />

Mentoring and Advising<br />
In my administrative roles as associate program director and program director I have meet with at<br />
least 5-10 students each year in depth and advise them through the career choice and residency<br />
application. Examples include David Lehenbauer, Carly Miller, Sean Summers, and Jonathon<br />
Seavy.<br />
As a recent junior faculty I mentored Dr. William Havron through the early portion of his career in<br />
such things as risk management, billing, resident/student education, and basic career advisement.<br />
Sponsor premedical students as clinical observers to allow them the opportunity to partake in the<br />
daily practice of academic trauma surgeon. This averages 1-2 per year. Recent participants include<br />
Mark Verity, David Bishop, Sarah Miller, and Tiffany Levine.<br />
