GAUGE: Each sq = 5½" x 5½" [approximately 14cm x 14cm] TO INSURE PROPER<br />

AFGHAN:<br />
<strong>Square</strong> I (Make 13): With A, ch 6. Join with sl st to form ring.<br />
Rnd 1: Ch 1, 18 sc into ring. Join with sl st to first sc.<br />
Rnd 2: Ch 1, 1 sc in same place as sl st, ch 3, sk 2 sc, * 1 sc in next sc, ch 3, sk 2 sc; rep<br />
from * around. Join with sl st to first sc.<br />
Rnd 3: Ch 1, into ea ch-3 lp work (1 sc, ch 3, 5 dc, ch 3, 1 sc). Join with sl st to first sc.<br />
Rnd 4: Ch 1, 1 sc in same place as sl st, * ch 5, holding 5 dc forward sc bet next 2 sc; rep<br />
from *around. Join with sl st to first sc.<br />
Rnd 5: Ch 1, into each ch-5 lp work (1 sc, ch 3, 7 dc, ch 3, 1 sc). Join with sl st to first sc.<br />
Fasten off A.<br />
Rnd 6: Attach B with sc bet any 2 sc, * ch 6, holding 7 dc forward sc bet next 2 sc; rep<br />

FINISHING: Join 5 rows of 5 sqs each, alternating Sq I and Sq II.<br />
With right side facing you, sew sqs tog, matching sts and working through back lps of ea<br />
sq.<br />
EDGING: Rnd 1: Join B with sl st at any corner of afghan and work<br />
1 dc rnd, working 3 dc in ea corner. Fasten off B. Rnd 2: Join A and rep Rnd 1. Fasten off<br />
A. Rnd 3: Join B, rep Rnd 1. Fasten off B.<br />
