Introduction The AxSOS Locking Plate System is indicated for fixation of long bone fractures including fractures of the distal radius, the proximal humerus, the distal tibia, proximal tibia and the distal femur. The system design is based on clinical input from an international panel of experienced surgeons, data from literature, and both practical and biomechanical testing. Features & Benefits System The Distal Lateral Femoral Plate is designed with fixed-angled screw trajectories in the metaphyseal part and perpendicular fixed-angled screw trajectories in the diaphysis, which are designed to provide adequate biomechanical stability and resistance to pull out. The metaphyseal screw pattern is also designed to help to avoid any interference in the intercondylar notch and helps prevent loss of reduction.
