CITYPORTO (a service provided by Interporto di Padova) - Osmose

From the UDC Eco-friendly Vehicles depart for deliveries in the city centre (so called “Last
Mile”).
Cityporto Model works with:
• UDC (Interporto di Padova as Freight Village)
• Low Emission Vehicles (6 vehicles LNG powered)
• Traffic Limitations (Restricted Traffic Area = ZTL) established by Municipality of
Padova
• Time windows for access and loading/unloading
• Transport operators directly involved
• Participation on voluntary basis
• Tariff per delivery agreed with third party operators (couriers, forwarders)
• Industrial Plan aimed also to economic sustainability
The service started in April 2004.
Logistic operators (couriers, forwarders) currently using this service are 90% of the total
operating in Padova area. They can reallocate vehicle and personnel resources for
deliveries outside the City centre.
The Public Subjects organized preliminary meetings to build a constructive confrontation
with the economical parties and trade associations.
Interporto di Padova monthly publishes a report to show the traffic data to the other
Public Subjects.
Interporto di Padova monthly shows to other Municipality Representatives (Italian and
Foreign) the good practice and the good results of Cityporto Service.
All the Cityporto LNG Vehicles have logos and writings to show to Padova citizens the
importance of this service.
