Angle grinders
Important user information
Grinding tools for angle grinders
To be noted when selecting grinding tools and using angle
grinders:
1. Typical grinding tools for angle grinders
Abrasive discs
The main tools used for fine grinding with the angle grinder are abrasive
mop wheels - also called abrasive discs.
These are tools which remove stock. They are ideal for grinding down
plate material and steel edges, and for levelling weld seams.
2. The different designs and their applications
Grinding discs come in 2 designs.
A: Flat model:
B: Bevelled model:
Workpiece
This design is used primarily for surface
grinding.
This design is used primarily for edge grinding and
hard-to-reach locations.
Workpiece
Both consist of a glass fibre plate and self-sharpening zirconium corundum.
3. The operating speed and its effect on the grinding result
Varying the operating speed allows the amount of material removed and therefore the fineness of the result to be
regulated.
Important safety message: The recommended maximum operating speed should not be exceeded.
