The key to obtaining a good<br />
ProTime result is collecting<br />
a good fingerstick sample.<br />
Place Tenderlett Plus<br />
at 90º angle to<br />
finger. Always<br />
incise side of finger<br />
closest to the pinky.<br />
TIP<br />
• Choose middle or ring finger.<br />
• Warm and massage hand to stimulate<br />
blood flow, while keeping the hand<br />
below heart level.<br />
BASE<br />
• Have patient give you a ‘High-Five’ or<br />
‘Low-Five’ (when instrument prompts to<br />
‘incise finger’).<br />
• Place Tenderlett Plus at 90º angle<br />
to finger.<br />

one’s finger to retrieve blood.<br />
• Always incise side of finger closest to<br />
the pinky, at a 10:00 or a 2:00<br />
pos<strong>it</strong>ion.<br />
• ‘High-Five’~ pivot Tenderlett Plus<br />
TIP towards pinky.<br />
• ‘Low-Five’~ pivot Tenderlett Plus<br />
BASE towards pinky.<br />
• Firmly press Tenderlett Plus to finger<br />
and trigger w<strong>it</strong>h thumb.<br />
• Wipe away the first trace of blood.<br />
An improper incision will<br />
cause blood to run down<br />
the side of the finger.<br />
• Pos<strong>it</strong>ion the hand perpendicular to the<br />
ground, like a handshake, to collect<br />
blood.<br />
• Squeeze and release the finger pad to<br />
obtain ONE LARGE, HANGING DROP<br />
<strong>OF</strong> BLOOD.
Test Procedure: follow the prompts on the screen.<br />
1. TURN ON ProTime ®<br />
Press the # button.<br />
Watch the screen and follow the<br />
prompts.<br />
2. INSERT TEST CUVETTE<br />
The barcode should be face down.<br />
ProTime warms the cuvette.<br />
WAIT for the prompt before incising<br />
the finger.<br />
3. PREPARE THE FINGER<br />
Warm the hands to stimulate<br />
blood flow.<br />
Cleanse the finger.<br />
WAIT for the prompt before incising<br />
the finger.<br />
4. INCISE THE FINGER<br />
Place Tenderlett ® Plus firmly against<br />
side of finger.<br />
Place thumb over the red trigger<br />
as shown.<br />
Press the red trigger.<br />
<br />
5. FILL CUP TO LINE<br />
Wipe away the first drop of blood.<br />
Form one LARGE DROP of blood.<br />
Touch drop to cup.<br />
FILL to the line indicated by<br />
the arrow.<br />
6. SNAP Tenderlett Plus<br />
ONTO ProTime<br />
Hold the Tenderlett Plus at an angle.<br />
Place cup end into slot.<br />
Press down to click in place.<br />

When PROMPTED remove the<br />
Tenderlett Plus.<br />
ProTime allows you six seconds to<br />
remove Tenderlett Plus.<br />
9. READ RESULTS<br />
The results remain displayed for five<br />
minutes.<br />
