Conditions for IODA Continental Championships<br />

approved by the IODA Annual General Meeting as stated in 8.2.<br />

16.2 The organisers must provide the additional financing from its own sources<br />

to cover the expenses of organisation and conduct of the championship.<br />

Sponsorship should be encouraged, but ISAF regulations on Advertising<br />

must be observed. The <strong>Optimist</strong> Class is Category A (see CR 2.8).<br />

17. ADVERTISING<br />

The IODA Executive Committee may authorise categories of advertising<br />

as permitted by the ISAF Advertising Code.<br />

18. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY<br />

The organisers shall indemnify IODA, its officers and agents against all<br />

claims arising from its part in organising the event and shall sign a form<br />

of indemnity before the venue is confirmed. Where possible it shall<br />

insure this risk.<br />

19. IODA EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE<br />

The IODA Executive Committee may authorise one or more representatives<br />

to act on its behalf in matters relating to the application of these<br />

Conditions.<br />

20. IODA OFFICIALS<br />

20.1 The Executive Committee may appoint for each championship an IODA<br />

Principal Race Officer (see 11.4), a measurer (see 13.2) and nominee of<br />

the Executive (normally the vice-president for the continent concerned).<br />

The organisers shall provide accommodation, meals and local transport<br />

for all IODA officials in exchange for an adult entry fee. This is usually<br />

an IODA Principal Race Officer, a Measurer and a nominee of the IODA<br />

Executive.<br />

20.2 In order to cover the costs incurred by the IODA officials the organisers<br />

shall be responsible for a total cost equal to 4% of the total entry fees<br />

received or USD 20 per participant (sailor or fee-paying adult) whichever<br />

be the higher.<br />

20.3 The organisers shall provide accommodation, meals and local transport<br />

for the partner of any of the above in exchange for an adult entry fee.<br />

21. REPORT<br />

The organisers will prepare a report and evaluation of the championship<br />

for presentation to the IODA Executive Committee prior to two months<br />

after the end of the championship.<br />
