U-2. Location
The House is located on the Uji Campus in Uji city, south of Kyoto city. The distance between the House
and the Main Campus is approximately 15km.
U-3. Facilities
The building is 4-storied, of reinforced concrete (opened in February 1987), and consists of house offices,
facilities for common use, and units for residents.
(1) Common use facilities
・Lobby (1 st fl.)
・Laundry rooms (2 nd and 3 rd fl.)

a. For researchers: 13 units
Type B (3 rooms, 60 m²) for families 1 unit
Type C (2 rooms, 40 m²) for couples 8 units
Type D (1 room, 20 m²) for singles 4 units
b. For students: 12 units
Type E (3 rooms, 60 m²) for families 1 unit
Type F (2 rooms, 40 m²) for couples 5 units
Type G (1 room, 20 m²) for single 6 units

(3) Furnishings
All rooms are air-conditioned. All units have a hot-water tank and are furnished with an internal
telephone (see U-7), internet access, IH cooking range, refrigerator, microwave-oven, washing machine (for
family type only), bath, toilet, bed(s), bedding (bed pads, sheets, blankets, pillows, pillow covers) and furniture.
Units for singles and couples are not furnished with a washing machine. Please use the ones in the
laundry rooms.
