<strong>HP</strong>-<strong>UX</strong> Trusted Mode <strong>Security</strong><br />
Expanding on the fundamentals of Standard Mode:<br />
• Trusted Mode gives the administrator or security officer<br />
additional features and options not available with standard<br />
UNIX security.<br />
• When the system administrator invokes trusted mode<br />
conversion through SAM, the system creates the “Trusted<br />
Computing Base”(TCB), which provides the mechanisms<br />
and architecture to extend <strong>HP</strong>-<strong>UX</strong> security to be fully C2<br />
<strong>Security</strong> compliant.<br />
• Conversion to the TCB includes protected password<br />
database, system default files, terminal default files,<br />
device assignment files, and modified crontab entries<br />
