Form a singular <strong>possessive</strong> <strong>noun</strong> by adding an<br />

apostrophe (‘) and an s to a singular <strong>noun</strong>.<br />

The tree’s leaves are changing colors.<br />

The dog’s collar is too tight.<br />

Alex’s grandmother is coming to visit next week.<br />

A person’s name or a collective <strong>noun</strong> that ends in s<br />

also has an apostrophe (‘) and an s in the <strong>possessive</strong>.<br />

doctors’ is plural <strong>possessive</strong>.<br />
