ecoENERGY Biofuels helps expand the production and
use of cleaner, renewable biofuels such as ethanol and
biodiesel. The initiative will provide operating incentives to
producers of renewable alternatives to gasoline and
diesel based on production levels and other factors. It will
make investment in production facilities more attractive by
partially offsetting the risk associated with fluctuating
feedstock and fuel prices.
Environment Canada's EcoAction Community Funding
Program has provided financial support to not-for-profit
community groups for projects that have measurable,
positive impacts on the environment. Funding support can
be requested for projects that have an action focus, a
community capacity building focus, or a combination of
both objectives.
The Environmental Damages Fund (EDF) helps ensure
polluters take responsibility for their actions. It gives
courts a way to guarantee that the money from pollution
penalties and settlements is directly invested to repair the
actual harm done by the pollution.
FedNor’s Northern Ontario Development Program
(NODP) promotes economic growth throughout a large
and diverse geographic area – stretching from Muskoka
Lakes to James Bay, and from the Manitoba border to
western Quebec. Fednor supports energy-related
projects under program components such as: innovation,
community economic development and human capital.
