General Information About Installation<br />

Electrostatic discharge<br />

The device contains <strong>com</strong>ponents that can be damaged or destroyed by electrostatic<br />

discharge. When handling the device, observe the necessary safety precautions against<br />

electrostatic discharge (ESD) according to <strong>EN</strong> 61340-5-1 and <strong>EN</strong> 61340-5-2.<br />

NOTE:<br />

The device may only be installed and removed by qualified personnel while observing the<br />

ESD regulations.<br />

NOTE: Ensure IP65/67 protection<br />

To ensure IP65/67 protection, cover unused connections with protective caps.<br />

NOTE: Avoid damage to the electronics<br />

Only supply the sensors of <strong>FLX</strong> <strong>ASI</strong> M8 and <strong>FLX</strong> <strong>ASI</strong> M12 devices with the voltage U LS<br />

provided at the terminal points.<br />

NOTE: Avoid polarity reversal<br />

Avoid polarity reversal of the supply voltages U LS and U AUX .<br />

6.3 Mounting Distances<br />

No specific distances must be observed between devices or between a device and a<br />

cabinet door or cover. Mounting distances are determined solely by the connectors used<br />

and the bending radii of the cables.<br />
