The number of accommodated visitors in Olomouc keeps
rising, the statistics say
The Tourism Department of the Olomouc City Hall has recently finished
processing accommodation statistics for the city of Olomouc in 2007.
The results of the statistics are pleasing. Since 2006 there has been a
repeated increase in the number of accommodated visitors to the city,
namely from 113,398 (in 2006) to 121,259 tourists – out of which
there were 73,221 domestic visitors.
German citizens formed the majority of foreign accommodated visitors
to the city (7.919), followed by Slovaks (6.832). polish guests (3.775)
finished in third place, followed by visitors from Russia and Italy.
Visitors to the city spent an average of 2.1 days here, which is a comparable
figure to 2006.
The visitors used the accommodation services in the hotel category
most (78,120 tourists), hostels (26,019 guests) and guest-houses
(17,156 guests) categories follow.
Tourists visit Olomouc most in the months of September (8,366 people),
October, August, and then also in May and June. These facts correspond
to the numbers of held seminars and events in the city, which is
highly pleasing.
