Preparing for the game at a<br />

table<br />

11 Cards<br />

(1) Caribbean stud poker is played with 1 deck <strong>of</strong> cards with<br />

backs <strong>of</strong> the same colour <strong>and</strong> design <strong>and</strong> 1 cutting card.<br />

(2) However, if a mechanical shuffling device is in use at a<br />

table—<br />

(a) the device may be loaded with 1 deck <strong>of</strong> cards while<br />

another deck is used in play; <strong>and</strong><br />

(b) the backs <strong>of</strong> the 2 decks <strong>of</strong> cards must have different<br />

colours; <strong>and</strong><br />

(c) the discard rack must only contain the cards from 1<br />

deck at a time.<br />

12 Procedures for inspecting, shuffling <strong>and</strong> cutting cards<br />

(1) Cards must be inspected <strong>and</strong> shuffled—<br />

(a) under the provisions <strong>of</strong> this part; <strong>and</strong><br />

(b) under the approved control system for the casino.<br />

(2) Before being used in play, the cards must be inspected to<br />

check for marks <strong>and</strong> imperfections <strong>and</strong> that each deck <strong>of</strong><br />

cards contains the correct cards.<br />

(3) If a player asks to inspect the cards when the cards are first<br />

placed on the table for play, the dealer must spread the<br />

cards face up on the table to enable a person inspecting<br />

them to see if each deck <strong>of</strong> cards is complete.<br />

(4) The cards must be shuffled—<br />

(a) before being used in play; <strong>and</strong><br />

(b) at the end <strong>of</strong> each round <strong>of</strong> play.<br />

(5) If the cards have been shuffled manually by the dealer, the<br />

dealer must cut the cards <strong>and</strong> place them with the cutting<br />

card into a dealing shoe.
