5 Number <strong>of</strong> decks<br />

Blackjack switch is played with 6 to 8 decks <strong>of</strong> cards with<br />

backs <strong>of</strong> the same colour <strong>and</strong> design <strong>and</strong> 2 additional cutting<br />

cards.<br />

6 Value <strong>of</strong> cards<br />

(1) The value <strong>of</strong> the cards contained in each deck is as<br />

follows—<br />

(a) a card from 2 to 10 has its face value;<br />

(b) a jack, queen or king has a value <strong>of</strong> 10;<br />

(c) unless subsection (2) or section 25(4) applies, an ace<br />

has a value <strong>of</strong> 11.<br />

(2) If a value <strong>of</strong> 11 for an ace would give a player or the dealer<br />

a point total <strong>of</strong> more than 21, the ace has a value <strong>of</strong> 1.<br />

7 Winning <strong>and</strong> losing wagers<br />

(1) Before the first card is dealt for a round <strong>of</strong> play, each player<br />

at a game <strong>of</strong> blackjack switch must—<br />

(a) make a wager (a blackjack switch wager) on each<br />

blackjack switch betting area <strong>of</strong> their box against the<br />

dealer; <strong>and</strong><br />

(b) be given an opportunity to make a wager (a super<br />

match wager) on the super match betting area <strong>of</strong> their<br />

box.<br />

(2) For subsection (1)(a), the two blackjack switch wagers<br />

must be <strong>of</strong> equal value.<br />

(3) A blackjack switch wager—<br />

(a) wins if the player’s point total is not more than 21 <strong>and</strong><br />

the dealer’s point total is more than 22; <strong>and</strong><br />

(b) wins if the player’s point total is more than the<br />

dealer’s point total but neither is more than 21; <strong>and</strong>
