3 Table <strong>and</strong> layout<br />

(1) Double deck blackjack is played at a table having a place<br />

for the dealer on 1 side <strong>and</strong> places for the players on the<br />

opposite side.<br />

(2) The layout cloth for the double deck blackjack table must<br />

have printed on it—<br />

(a) the name <strong>of</strong>, or logo for, the casino; <strong>and</strong><br />

(b) rectangular, circular or oval areas to show boxes for<br />

wagers.<br />

(3) The following words must be printed on the layout cloth—<br />

• blackjack pays 3 to 2<br />

• dealer must st<strong>and</strong> on 17 <strong>and</strong> must draw to 16<br />

• insurance pays 2 to 1.<br />

4 Drop box <strong>and</strong> discard rack<br />

Each double deck blackjack table must have a drop box <strong>and</strong> a<br />

discard rack attached to it at approximately the positions<br />

shown in diagram 19.1.<br />

General rules<br />

5 Number <strong>of</strong> decks<br />

(1) Double deck blackjack is played with 2 decks <strong>of</strong> cards with<br />

backs <strong>of</strong> the same colour <strong>and</strong> design <strong>and</strong> 2 additional<br />

cutting cards.<br />

(2) However, if a mechanical shuffling device is in use at a<br />

table, the device may be loaded with 2 additional decks <strong>of</strong><br />

cards with backs <strong>of</strong> a different colour to the 2 decks <strong>of</strong><br />

cards being used in play.
