(b) when play is started, or if the cards in the card<br />

machine are replaced under section 16, the cards must<br />

be inspected <strong>and</strong> shuffled <strong>and</strong> then placed in the card<br />

machine;<br />

the cards do not need to be cut before being placed in<br />

the card machine;<br />

a cutting card may be used to conceal the bottom card<br />

<strong>of</strong> the cards placed into the machine, but it must be<br />

removed from the machine before cards for the first<br />

round <strong>of</strong> play are dealt;<br />

cutting cards are not used for the game, other than in<br />

the way mentioned in paragraph (d);<br />

for dealing the cards, the card machine takes the place<br />

<strong>of</strong> the dealing shoe;<br />

(g) cards that have been placed in the discard rack are<br />

placed in the card machine to be mixed with the<br />

remaining cards in the machine.<br />

32 Card machine malfunction<br />

(1) This section applies if a card machine malfunctions during<br />

a round <strong>of</strong> play.<br />

(2) A casino employee responsible for supervising table games<br />

must ensure that the card machine is repaired or replaced in<br />

accordance with the casino’s approved control system.<br />

(3) If the casino employee considers that the malfunction has<br />

disadvantaged a player, each player must be given the<br />

opportunity to have their wagers for the round <strong>of</strong> play<br />

returned to the player before the round <strong>of</strong> play is continued.
