5 St<strong>and</strong>ing players<br />

(1) If all numbered places at the table are occupied by seated<br />

players, players who are st<strong>and</strong>ing may also participate in<br />

the game.<br />

(2) St<strong>and</strong>ing players—<br />

(a)<br />

(b)<br />

(c)<br />

(d)<br />

may place a wager in the part <strong>of</strong> the layout identified<br />

for st<strong>and</strong>ing player wagers; <strong>and</strong><br />

must not participate in the cut <strong>of</strong> the cards or touch or<br />

h<strong>and</strong>le the cards used in the game; <strong>and</strong><br />

may not be appointed banker; <strong>and</strong><br />

for all winning wagers on the banker’s h<strong>and</strong>,<br />

immediately the winnings become payable—must<br />

pay or have deducted from the winnings the<br />

commission calculated under section 13.<br />

6 Number <strong>of</strong> decks <strong>and</strong> way cards are dealt<br />

(1) Baccarat is played with 8 decks <strong>of</strong> cards with backs <strong>of</strong> the<br />

same colour <strong>and</strong> design <strong>and</strong> 2 additional cutting cards.<br />

(2) All cards must be dealt from a dealing shoe designed for<br />

the purpose.<br />

7 Value <strong>of</strong> cards <strong>and</strong> point count <strong>of</strong> h<strong>and</strong>s<br />

(1) The value <strong>of</strong> the cards in each deck is as follows—<br />

(a) a card from 2 to 9 has its face value;<br />

(b) a 10, jack, queen or king has a value <strong>of</strong> 0;<br />

(c) an ace has a value <strong>of</strong> 1.<br />

(2) The point count <strong>of</strong> a h<strong>and</strong> is a single digit number from 0<br />

to 9 inclusive <strong>and</strong> is decided by adding together the value<br />

<strong>of</strong> the cards in the h<strong>and</strong>.<br />

(3) If the total <strong>of</strong> the cards in a h<strong>and</strong> is a 2-digit number, the<br />

left digit <strong>of</strong> the number must be discarded having no value<br />

<strong>and</strong> the right digit is the point count <strong>of</strong> the h<strong>and</strong>.
