Different types <strong>of</strong> wagers, extra<br />

players <strong>and</strong> other matters<br />

24 Surrender<br />

(1) If 2 cards have been dealt to each player <strong>and</strong> the dealer’s<br />

first card is a jack, queen, king or ace, the dealer must <strong>of</strong>fer<br />

each player who has a point count <strong>of</strong> less than 21 the<br />

opportunity to surrender half the player’s spanish blackjack<br />

wager.<br />

(2) If a player indicates to the dealer that the player wishes to<br />

surrender, the dealer must place a marker button on top <strong>of</strong><br />

the player’s wager <strong>and</strong> not deal any further cards to the<br />

player’s h<strong>and</strong>.<br />

(3) If the dealer obtains blackjack, the surrender is void <strong>and</strong> the<br />

player loses the whole wager.<br />

(4) If the dealer does not obtain blackjack, the dealer must<br />

complete the h<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> take half the surrendered wager.<br />

25 Insurance wagers<br />

(1) If the first card dealt to the dealer is an ace, the dealer must<br />

call for insurance wagers by calling ‘insurance’.<br />

(2) Each player may make an insurance wager which wins if<br />

the dealer’s second card is a king, queen or jack <strong>and</strong> loses if<br />

the dealer’s second card is an ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9.<br />

(3) Immediately after the second card is dealt to each player<br />

<strong>and</strong> before any additional cards are dealt to the players, an<br />

insurance wager may be made by placing on the insurance<br />

line an amount not more than half the amount staked on the<br />

player’s spanish blackjack wager.<br />

(4) However, to ensure an even dollar payout if the insurance<br />

wager wins, the insurance wager may be up to 25c more<br />

than half the amount staked on the player’s spanish<br />

blackjack wager.<br />

(5) All winning insurance wagers are paid at odds <strong>of</strong> 2 to 1.
