29 Particular settings<br />

(1) A player or player/banker may ask the dealer to set the tiles<br />

<strong>of</strong> the player or player/banker in the house way.<br />

(2) After the tiles are exposed, the dealer must show—<br />

(a)<br />

the low h<strong>and</strong> by placing the low h<strong>and</strong> tiles<br />

horizontally to the dealer; <strong>and</strong><br />

the high h<strong>and</strong> by placing the high h<strong>and</strong> tiles vertically<br />

to the dealer.<br />

(3) When the house is banker or co-banker, the dealer must set<br />

the bank’s tiles the house way.<br />

Part 11<br />

Setting h<strong>and</strong>s the house way<br />

30 Setting h<strong>and</strong>s the house way<br />

(1) The provisions <strong>of</strong> this part apply for setting h<strong>and</strong>s the house<br />

way.<br />

(2) Subject to section 35, the provisions apply in priority order.<br />

(3) If h<strong>and</strong>s are set in the house way <strong>and</strong> higher play is<br />

possible, the h<strong>and</strong>s must be set for the higher play.<br />

31 Play the pairs<br />

(1) Only the following pairs may be split—<br />

(a) 12s (teens);<br />

(b) 2s (days);<br />

(c) 7s, 8s <strong>and</strong> 9s.<br />

(2) However, the pairs may not be split if higher play is<br />

possible.<br />

(3) The pairs are split in the following ways—
