Setting the h<strong>and</strong>s<br />

27 H<strong>and</strong>s<br />

Each player <strong>and</strong> the banker must form a low h<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> a<br />

high h<strong>and</strong> from the group <strong>of</strong> 4 tiles dealt to the player or<br />

banker.<br />

28 Setting the h<strong>and</strong>s<br />

(1) A player to whom tiles are dealt must set the player’s tiles<br />

into a low h<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> a high h<strong>and</strong>.<br />

(2) Each player must work out the point count <strong>of</strong> the player’s<br />

h<strong>and</strong>.<br />

(3) After a player’s tiles have been set into a low h<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> a<br />

high h<strong>and</strong>, the tiles must be placed face down on the table<br />

as 2 separate h<strong>and</strong>s.<br />

(4) The 2 tiles forming a h<strong>and</strong> must be set <strong>and</strong> positioned with<br />

1 tile on top <strong>of</strong> the other.<br />

(5) The setting <strong>of</strong> a player’s h<strong>and</strong> must not be changed once the<br />

banker turns <strong>and</strong> starts setting the bank’s tiles.<br />

(6) The h<strong>and</strong>s <strong>of</strong> all the players must be set before any <strong>of</strong> the<br />

players’ tiles are exposed to other players or the banker.<br />

(7) However, the tiles <strong>of</strong> a player who has asked for a house<br />

way set may be set after the bank’s tiles are set if—<br />

(a) a house way marker is placed near the player’s tiles<br />

before the banker’s tiles are exposed; <strong>and</strong><br />

(b) a computer or house way document is available at or<br />

near the table to confirm the setting is correct.<br />

(8) After all players (other than a player who is a player/banker<br />

or a co-banker) have set their tiles, the banker—<br />

(a) exposes the bank’s tiles; <strong>and</strong><br />

(b) sets the bank’s h<strong>and</strong>s.<br />

(9) The dealer or a player may view unplayed tiles only if—<br />

(a) the settlement <strong>of</strong> all wagers is completed; <strong>and</strong>
