Wagers<br />

13 Placing wagers<br />

(1) After the dealer starts pushing the tiles out to the first<br />

player, a player must not h<strong>and</strong>le, remove or change a<br />

wager, or place an additional wager, until the wager has<br />

been decided <strong>and</strong> dealt with.<br />

(2) A wager at pai gow is made by placing gaming chips in the<br />

appropriate wager area <strong>of</strong> the pai gow layout.<br />

14 Minimum <strong>and</strong> maximum wagers<br />

(1) In accepting a wager, a player/banker must consider the<br />

player/banker’s ability to meet the maximum liability that<br />

might arise to the player/banker from other players’ wagers.<br />

(2) If the house is co-banker—<br />

(a)<br />

(b)<br />

the maximum house liability, for the table, must be<br />

displayed at or near the table; <strong>and</strong><br />

wagers must be placed in a way that ensures—<br />

(i)<br />

(ii)<br />

the house’s maximum liability is not more than<br />

the amount displayed; <strong>and</strong><br />

the co-banker’s maximum liability is not more<br />

than the amount the co-banker is able to meet.<br />

(3) If, under an arrangement under section 64A <strong>of</strong> the Act, a<br />

player wagers more than the permissible maximum wager<br />

for the table, the player is the only player allowed to wager<br />

on the box the player is using.<br />

(4) If the total <strong>of</strong> all wagers on a box is at least half the<br />

permissible maximum wager for the table—<br />

(a) a marker (a priority set marker) must be placed at the<br />

box before the tiles are dealt for the round <strong>of</strong> play;<br />

<strong>and</strong><br />

(b) the tiles for the box must be set before players at<br />

other boxes look at or start setting their tiles.
