6 Tiles<br />

Pai gow is played with 32 tiles with—<br />

(a) faces bearing the markings shown in diagram 8.2; <strong>and</strong><br />

(b) backs <strong>of</strong> the same colour <strong>and</strong> design.<br />

7 Tile ranking<br />

(1) The ranking <strong>of</strong> pairs from highest to lowest is shown in<br />

diagram 8.2, <strong>and</strong> is as follows—<br />

• gee jun or 3/6<br />

• teen or 12<br />

• day or 2<br />

• yun or high 8<br />

• gor or high 4<br />

• mooy or high 10<br />

• chong or high 6<br />

• bon or low 4<br />

• foo or 11<br />

• ping or low 10<br />

• tit or high 7<br />

• look or low 6<br />

• chop gow or 9<br />

• chop bot or low 8<br />

• chop chit or low 7<br />

• chop ng or 5.<br />

(2) The ranking <strong>of</strong> wongs, gongs <strong>and</strong> high 9s from highest to<br />

lowest is as follows—<br />

• teen wong (a 12 (teen) tile with any 9 tile)<br />

• day wong (a 2 (day) tile with any 9 tile)<br />

• teen gong (a 12 (teen) tile with any 8 tile)<br />

• day gong (a 2 (day) tile with any 8 tile)
