Hat Directions are for size Small/Medium; changes for<br />

size Medium/Large are in parentheses.<br />

RED HEART® "Zoomy": 2 Balls 8955 Shaded Lime.<br />

Circular Knitting Needle: 8mm [US 11] – 16".<br />

Double-pointed Knitting Needles: 8mm [US 11].<br />

Straight Knitting Needles: 5.5mm [US 9] for visor.<br />

Stitch marker, cable needle; yarn needle.<br />

GAUGE: 11 sts = 4"; 18 rows = 4" in Garter st with 8mm<br />

needles. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needle<br />

to obtain the gauge.<br />

SPECIAL ABBREVIATIONS:<br />

M1 (Make 1 stitch) = Lift running thread before next stitch<br />

onto left needle and <strong>knit</strong> into the back loop.<br />

C2B = Slip next stitch onto cable needle and leave at<br />

back of work, K1, then K1 from cable needle.<br />

With circular needle, cast on 56 (60) sts. Row 1 (Right<br />

Side): * K1, P1; rep from * across. Place marker to<br />

denote beg of rnd; join to work in the rnd, taking care not<br />

to twist sts. Work ribbing pat in the rnd until approximately<br />

1w" from beg. K 1 rnd inc 16 (20) sts evenly spaced – 72<br />

(80) sts. Work in pat:<br />

Rnd 1: [P3 (4), C2B, P8, C2B, P3 (4)] 4 times.<br />

Rnd 2: Knit.<br />

Rep Rnds 1 and 2 until approximately 4" from beg, end<br />

Visor: With straight needles, pick up and K27 sts from the<br />

cast-on edge. P 1 row. K 1 row. P 1 row. Bind off 2 sts at<br />

beg of next 2 rows. Bind off 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows.<br />

Bind off 4 sts at beg of next 2 rows – 9 sts. Knit 1 row.<br />

Cast on 4 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Cast on 3 sts at beg<br />

of next 2 rows. Cast on 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows – 27<br />

sts. P 1 row. K 1 row. P 1 row. Bind off, dec 6 sts evenly<br />

across. Sew sides of visor; sew bind-off edge in place.<br />

FINGERLESS GLOVES<br />

One size fits most women.<br />

RED HEART® "Zoomy": 1 Ball 8955 Shaded Lime.<br />

Double-pointed Knitting Needles: 6mm [US 10].<br />

Stitch holder, yarn needle.<br />

GAUGE: 12 sts = 4"; 18 rows = 4"in St st. CHECK YOUR<br />

GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the gauge.<br />

RIGHT HAND: Cast on 22 sts. Work 1 row of K1, P1 ribbing<br />

dividing sts as follows: Needle 1: 7 sts, Needle 2: 8<br />

sts; Needle 3: 7 sts; join to work in the rnd, taking care<br />

not to twist sts. Seed Stitch Rnd 1: * P1, K1; rep from *<br />

around. Rnd 2: * K1, P1; rep from * around.<br />

Rep Rnds 1 and 2 for Seed st until 4" from beg. K 4 rnds.<br />

Shape Thumb-Rnd 1: Needle 1: Knit; Needle 2: K3, M1,<br />

K1, M1, K4; Needle 3: Knit – 24 sts.<br />

Next And Every Other Rnd: Knit. Continue to Knit<br />

across Needles 1 and 3 every rnd and work across<br />

Needle 2 as follows:<br />

Rnd 3: K3, M1, K3, M1, K4 – 26 sts. Rnd 5: K3, M1, K5,<br />

M1, K4 – 28 sts. Rnd 7: K3, M1, K7, M1, K4 – 30 sts.<br />

Rnd 9: K3, place next 9 sts on a holder for thumb, K4<br />

pulling yarn tightly across the gap – 21 sts. Work even<br />

until approximately 7" from beg. Work 1 rnd Seed St, inc<br />

1 st on each needle – 24 sts. Work 2 more rnds in Seed<br />

st. Bind off loosely in pat.<br />

Thumb: Transfer sts from holder to double points, dividing<br />

sts equally. With right side facing, pick up and K1 st<br />

before beginning Seed st pat, work Seed st across, cast<br />

on 1 st; join in rnd – 11 sts. Work 2 more rnds Seed st.<br />

Bind off in pat.<br />

LEFT HAND: Work same as Right Hand EXCEPT<br />

reverse the directions for Needle 2 while shaping thumb.<br />

FINISHING: Form 4 finger spaces by sewing loosely<br />

between back and front of glove allowing a gap of approximately<br />

1/2". Overcast or work Blanket st across the 1/2"<br />

gap. Repeat the process a total of three times on each<br />

glove.<br />
