15 Fault types SMX
The SMX generally differentiates between two types of faults as per assignment below:
Fault type
Fatal Error
Alarm
ECS-Alarm
Description
Severe exceptional error caused by the
program run in the SMX. Cyclic program
sequence is no longer possible for safety
related reasons. The last active process is
the operation of the 7-segment display by
system A. System B is in stop mode.
Functional fault, caused by an external
process. Both systems continue to run
cyclically and serve all requests from the
communication interfaces. Sensing of the
external process is also maintained.
When using the ECS function in the
programming desktop, the encoder alarm
messages are marked "E" instead of "A".
