3.1.3 <strong>OECI</strong> <strong>Accreditation</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Designation</strong> Board<br />

The requirements for the composition of the A&D Board are:<br />

− The composition of the A&D Board shall be approved by the <strong>OECI</strong> Board,<br />

− The A&D Board consists of four persons of the <strong>OECI</strong> member institutes including the chairperson.<br />

− The chairperson is a co-opted member in the <strong>OECI</strong> Board.<br />

− A&D Board members engage a position within the Board of Directors of an <strong>OECI</strong> member institute or a position<br />

with comparable authority to be decided by the <strong>OECI</strong> Board.<br />

General <strong>and</strong> specific tasks<br />

Financial:<br />

− Presenting a quarterly overview of income/expenditure,<br />

− Assessing quarterly the income/expenditure.<br />

Policy/procedures:<br />

− Decision making on accreditation <strong>and</strong> designation procedures <strong>and</strong> policy.<br />

<strong>Accreditation</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Designation</strong> Programme:<br />

− Approve/disapprove the application of new cancer institutes in the A&D Programme <strong>and</strong> preliminary designation<br />

type,<br />

− Approve/disapprove the self-assessment results of cancer institute to plan a peer review visit on site (‘go’/‘no<br />

go’ decision),<br />

− Approve/ disapprove the final peer review report including designation type,<br />

− Approve/ disapprove the Improvement plan of a cancer institute,<br />

− Dealing with <strong>and</strong> solving major issues between the A&D Management Unit <strong>and</strong> cancer institute in case of<br />

complaints or other issues.<br />

Decision making<br />

To increase independent examinations in essential steps in the A&D process, the A&D Board will be advised by<br />

the <strong>OECI</strong> A&D Committee (3.1.5). The A&D Committee will propose their conclusions on the essential steps to<br />

the <strong>OECI</strong> A&D Board as input for final approval. The advice of the A&D Committee is not binding.<br />
