1818 Savings Bank established in King Street and later transferred to High Street. Mr <strong>Thomas</strong> Caddel was the first Actuary.<br />

1826 <strong>Thomas</strong> Caddell printed a map of Gravesend town.<br />

This the Last Will and Testament of me <strong>Thomas</strong> Caddel of the parish of Milton next Gravesend in the County of Kent Bookseller and Stationer. I<br />

give devise direct ___ and appoint unto my dear wife Rebecca and to her heirs and assigns forever all that my messuage tenament or dwelling<br />

house with the yard out buildings and appurtenances thereto belonging situate in King Street in the said parish of Milton next Gravesend now in<br />

my own occupation and which I purchased of and from Mr John Matthews and all other my real estate whatsoever and wheresoever to and for her<br />

and their own absolute use and benefit. Also I give and bequeath all and every my household goods and furniture plate linen and china and all my<br />

stock and implements in trade book and other books and all my ready money and securities for money and all other my goods chattels and effects<br />

of what nature or kindsoever the same maybe or ___ at the time of my decease unto my said wife her executors and administrators and for her<br />

and their own use and benefit absolutely. And I make the aforesaid gift devise and bequeath on account and by reason that the property I possess<br />

has been ___ partly from and through my said wife and increased by the exertions and attention to business as well of my said wife as of myself<br />

and in the full and perfect confidence that she will use and apply and dispose of the same with discretion and ___. And I nominate ___ and appoint<br />

my said wife sole executrix of this my will and hereby revoking all former and other wills codicils and testaments by me made. I declare this only to<br />

be my last will and testament in witness whereof I the said <strong>Thomas</strong> Caddel the testator have to this my last Will and Testament set and subscribed<br />

my hand the second day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three - <strong>Thomas</strong> Caddel - signed by the said<br />

<strong>Thomas</strong> Caddel the testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us being at the same time who at his request in his presence<br />

and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses thereto. Samuel Gardner, Tavern Keeper Milton next<br />

Gravesend; Chas Pearson Solicitor Gravesend. Proved at London the 4th Augt <strong>1848</strong> before the worshipful ___ <strong>Thomas</strong> Pratt Doctor of Law and<br />

Surrogate by the oath of Rebecca Caddel widow the Relict the sole Executrix to whom ___ was ___ having been first sworn duly to administer.<br />
