Mannheimergulden or f thaler <strong>of</strong> 1608, with a portrait <strong>of</strong> Friedrich IV.,<br />

Count Palatine <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Rhine, on obv. and <strong>the</strong> arms on rev. There is also<br />

a double grosch <strong>of</strong> 1792 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> jubilee <strong>of</strong> Carl Theodor <strong>of</strong> Bavaria.<br />

Manopello, Naples, a place where Charles VIII. <strong>of</strong> France granted to<br />

Count Pardo Orsini, 1495, <strong>the</strong> right <strong>of</strong> coinage.<br />

<strong>of</strong> 1574 <strong>of</strong> this evolutionary character, and from that date a continuous<br />

series <strong>of</strong> money in gold and silver all bearing <strong>the</strong> same symbol. The<br />

early money exhibits, besides <strong>the</strong> horseman, <strong>the</strong> arms <strong>of</strong> Mansfeld (a<br />

lozenge) and somewhat later pieces a crowned lion with Mansf.<br />
