Imola, Forli, a place <strong>of</strong> coinage <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Riario family pursuant to a<br />

papal grant <strong>of</strong> 1477. The right extended to any place within <strong>the</strong> county<br />

(1477-99)-<br />

Incisa, Tuscany, <strong>the</strong> place apparently intended on an imperiale <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> I4th c. with Marchionv. Acise on obv. There is a second place <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> same name in <strong>the</strong> Sardinian States <strong>of</strong> Terra-firma.<br />

Innspriick, a mint <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Dukes and Arch -Dukes <strong>of</strong> Austria, I5thi6th<br />

ii., Nos. 6774-75, two Isny thalers <strong>of</strong> 1538 and 1554 sold for 600 and 505<br />

Jever, Oldenburgh, a mint <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> feudal lords in <strong>the</strong> nth c., and one<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Counts <strong>of</strong> Oldenburgh and East Friesland, 1 5th- 6th and 1 I7th c.<br />

At a later period <strong>the</strong> Princes <strong>of</strong> Anhalt-Zerbst and <strong>the</strong> Czars <strong>of</strong> Russia<br />

employed it.<br />

Joachimsthal, a mining district in Bohemia, a mint <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Counts <strong>of</strong><br />

Schlitz, who are said to have struck here <strong>the</strong> Joachimsthaler, or piece<br />

with <strong>the</strong> standing figure <strong>of</strong> that saint, as early as 1518. The word thaler<br />

is sometimes derived from this source.<br />

Jougne, princ. <strong>of</strong> Orange, a mint <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> house <strong>of</strong> O., I5th c. A gros<br />

<strong>of</strong> Louis de Chalon, 1418-70, with Gros. Mont. D. lonke, is referred<br />

hi<strong>the</strong>r.<br />

Jugon, Brittany, a mint <strong>of</strong> John IV., Duke <strong>of</strong> B., 1364-99.<br />

Jttltch, or Juliers, a mint <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Dukes <strong>of</strong> Juliers, subsequently Dukes<br />

<strong>of</strong> Juliers, Cleves, and Berg. Ivliac. There were several o<strong>the</strong>rs, mentioned<br />

elsewhere. There are 4-stuiver pieces <strong>of</strong> William <strong>the</strong> Rich, Duke<br />

<strong>of</strong> Juliers and Berg, 1583 and 1587, with a swan as a mint-mark. This
