1931 Praeco
In 1931, The Lock Haven State Teachers College boasted of the
accompl ishments of its female students in particular. While the
candids reflected the silliness of boys dressed as flappers and
girls smil ing coyly fo r the ca me ra, this photo of the championship
baseball team reflects the strength of fema le participation As
the female students were being introduced to spring sports, the
yea rbook points out that "previous to the (championship) tournament,
the girls received instruction on the technique of baseball in
gym classes. " In 1931, LHSTC women's athleti cs consisted of
field hockey, basketball, volleyball, baseba ll , track, tennis and
saddle club.

1946 Praeco
The Class of '46 was very proud of its returning
soldiers. A specia l page dedicated to "Ex-G I's"
was captioned, "They came back to graduateand
were late but welc ome additions to the class
of '46." These students ret urned with a new
maturity and sense of their world Pictured here is
Cla ir Klinger whose phi losophy was "Nothing but
himself can be his parallel" Past and future editions
of Praeco featured pride in those stu dents
who chose to fight for their country

The fun of the ' 60s was a highlight in 1968 The
"Ugly Leg Contest" attracted nine men search
ing for the title. Awarded a ceramic mannequin
leg as the trophy, the competition was fierce l
